Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is Creative Commons?

A: Creative Commons is a non-profit organization that provides easy-to-use tools to help authors grant copyright permissions to their creative work. Learn more about them here.

Q: What do I have to do to print an article in my newsletter?

A: All you have to do is download the article text and drop it into your newsletter layout. As long as you don't change the body of the text and keep the attribution and license intact, that's all that's required. If you would like to email the author to let them know you're using their article, I'm sure they would appreciate it.

Q: How long should my article be?

A: Different people have different needs for their newsletters. Longer articles can be more in-depth, but might not fit into a small layout. You may want to provide more than one version of the article, if possible.

Q: Can I include pictures with my article?

A: You can include up to five pictures with your article. Pictures will be limited to 2MB each, so only include what is necessary. If there are larger files that you would like to accompany your article, you can place links to them in your synopsis. Remember that pictures carry copyright too, so only submit your own work or images that are in the public domain.
